SandBox VR - Virtual Reality Video Game

I went to SandBox VR (Virtual Reality) and it was so much fun! I thought I was going to play one game and call it quits, but was I ever wrong. If you’ve been on the fence or didn’t even know that such a thing existed, you must go! Here is my experience and some videos to go along.

How it typically works is that you buy one game there are about 6 different options, which lasts roughly 30 minutes. You need about 10 mins for gearing up. One game is around $50 USD per person playing with a limit of 6 people per game.

However, if you are able to gather a decent size group of people the better option is to do a room buy out. Which is what we did for a birthday. This way you are paying for the hours per the amount of room you would like to buy out and you have unlimited game play. The cost does not change based on the amount of people you have.

For instance, I had booked 3 rooms, so that 18 people could play at a time. There was suppose to be about 21 of us. You do not have to wait for everyone to arrive before starting, you could invite 100 people if you wanted to, but you’re limited to the 18 people at a time because that’s the maximum capacity of booking three rooms. You are allowed to interchange and choose different games per room. Booking out an entire room helps bring the cost per person down.

Be prepared to get hot and even sweat, this is definitely a physical activity. Something that was a surprise to me, especially when there was only 3 of us in one game. The more people you have in a room, the easier and less physical the game becomes. You don’t actually feel the hits to your character, but you still feel like you are in the game.

I ended up playing Amber Sky and Curse of Davy Jones (Pirate game). We choose the Pirate one thinking that it would be fun and easy since it looked like it was targeting kids. We were wrong lol, it was hard, especially since it was only 3 of us playing. Check out the video below for some of our game play experience.

SandBox VR has 34 locations across the globe with many more locations coming soon. Check out their website for the nearest location to you.

Side note: We got to go back for two games on the house because there was a miscommunication issue with our original booking. I must say, Amber Sky is my favorite so far. It was also a favorite among everyone the first time we went. We started out with Star Trek for the two complimentary game plays and it was just okay to me, so to make sure everyone got to experience the level of fun we had originally, I chose Amber Sky for the second game and it did not disappoint.
